Movie News: Speculation of Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell characters in Iron Man 2

The Hollywood Reporter has announced speculation that Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell are poised to star as antagonists to Robert Downey Jr.'s second turn as Tony Stark, a.k.a. The Invincible Iron Man in the blockbuster's second intstallment.
Various reports of the character Rourke will play agree that he will be a tatooed Russian, but whether he will be the villain known as Whiplash or the Crimson Dynamo remains to be seen. Meanwhile, Rockwell is reported to be cast as Justin Hammer, business rival to Stark, making for an interesting split between super hero and business clashes.
Justin Theroux is penning the sequel, with returning director Jon Favreau calling the shots. Downey Jr. is reprising his role as the protagonist along with Gwyneth Paltrow returning as Pepper Potts, his long-time personal assistant and office sexual tension supervisor. Joining them is Don Cheadle, taking over the reins of James Rhodes, military advisor to Stark, originally played by Terrence Howard.
The project is slated to start this spring in Manhattan Beach, with a projected release of May 7, 2010 according to distributor Paramount.
